This morning I stumbled out of bed and headed for my email, looking to see if any major emergencies had crept up overnight that I needed to take care of. I read down through the list in my inbox – mailing list, junk mail, mailing list, mailing list, acceptance letter to art school, junk mail – what?
Yes, I was accepted for the fall semester at the art school I applied to in June (I sent my portfolio in August). I had expected to hear back by December – when I didn’t, I assumed that I wasn’t accepted and resolved to try again this year with a better portfolio. I bought more supplies, sketched out more plans.
But I did make it in. And this changes everything. I will spend five weeks in Italy and seven in Greece.
I have to scrape together the tuition first, but I think I can do it. I have to see where J. stands with all of it. There are a lot of plans to make. But this is very good news indeed.
