good weekend

August 17, 2004

Saturday morning, I woke up and immediately called my local photo place to see if they had any Time-Zero film in stock. I was urgent about it, it has been so long since I’ve done any manipulations. They had two packs left, so I had them hold them for me. On a whim, I grabbed my broken Canonet QL17 to see if it could be repaired. Verdict: “We don’t repair these, we replace them. You can get them on eBay for $40-50.” Okay, whatever. All my cameras come from eBay anyway.

Film bought, we headed to Michael’s where I picked up some bookbinding equipment for my portfolio. I’ve been lusting over these tool kits for over a year, and it was nice to finally buy it. I bought some leather for the covers, but it turned out to be too thick, so I’ll have to find another use for it.

Spent the rest of the day making SX70 manipulations and cyanotype photograms. Lots of fun. Then I was invited over to E. & S.’s house (Formerly The Twins’ house, but the twins don’t live together any more) for a wonderful chicken salad served in a cantaloupe half. I drank rum and watched Kill Bill 2. Good Saturday night.

Sunday, I fucked off and did nothing of consequence. Ah well, I batted .500 I guess.
