I kicked my elliptical trainer’s ASS tonight. Foo on you, fat burning cardio! You thought you had me, but the little fat girl came back in the last round and was VICTORIOUS!!
Sorry, just a little moment of celebration. It’s been a couple of weeks since I was on the elliptical (what? It’s beautiful outside! Why would I stay indoors when I can go for a walk?) so I was relieved that I managed to do a workout I didn’t initially think I was capable of. It helps that I had a massive dose of espresso right beforehand.
I got some of the most beautiful “yarn” ever on Saturday, and I can’t think of anything to do with it. Initially I wanted to make belts and hair wraps from it, but I don’t like the way it looks crocheted, I like it just as it is. Which means I’ll shortly be adding it to the pile of textured yarns that I have fell madly in love with over the years, only to abandon later once the sensory enjoyment had faded a bit.
My favourite Futurama episode is the last one, and all day long I have been singing
“Destiny has cheated me
By forcing me to decide upon
The woman that I idolize, or the hands of an automaton….”
It’s a really terrific episode, centering around an opera written by Fry for Leela. Largely composed by Danny Elfman, I assume, with really great lyrics.
I just wanted to share this stuff with the internet. It was either that, or write code. I managed to get my financial aid application for school turned in this weekend, and should be hearing back from them shortly, so I’m practically a new woman in my relief that the monumental task is over. Do you have any idea how fricking hard it is to write an artist’s statement? It is hard. The whole thing was only 1100 words, and it took me two months to write. I’m so glad it’s over.
