orange you glad I didn’t say “acetate”?

September 8, 2004

Here is my fuzzy hat. There is a second, and a third in progress, and a poncho that will look like a CLOUD when I am done. For the record, I am not a person who should wear hats. My head is enormous.

wild one

September 8, 2004

I tricked J. into taking me to Michael’s last night for eyelash yarn (tricked because had he known I was going to buy yarn, he’d have locked me in our walk-in closet with the two 50-gallon trashbags of yarn that are stored in there and not have let me out). I was so excited to Read more >>

this weekend’s cyanotypes

September 7, 2004

Behind the cut, two cyanotypes from digital negatives printed out on plain ol’ inkjet acetate. They’re the biggest cyanotypes I’ve ever printed (about 8×10) and proved to be a bit of a problem, printing wise. I think this is the Louvre. Or, a storefront along the Seine in a very historical building. I can’t remember. Read more >>

Birthday

September 6, 2004

In the last three weeks, every time I pay for something with a credit card or fill out a medical form, someone clicks sympathetically at me about my birth date. “Wow, what a rough birthday to have!” or “Jeez, your birthday’s on September 11th?” I was pretty good at first about passing off some nonchalant Read more >>

I DID IT!

August 25, 2004

It’s sent!! It’s off to Greece! I really sent it! Hooray for me! I had to drive all over Creation and call several places before I found a post office that 1) knew what an International Reply Coupon was and 2) had them in stock. Two hours and $40 later, it was sent. It should Read more >>

bound and ready to go

August 24, 2004

Finished the portfolio last night, and had it packed and ready to go before I remembered that I had promised pictures. So, here are some quick, rather bad images taken hastily because they were the last task between me and sleep: The statement I included is weak, to say the least, but after two months Read more >>

this weekend

August 23, 2004

Rebound a new portfolio, with better results than the original. Mounted all my photographs, printed four cyanotypes and created labels for everything on my sweet little unused photo printer. It looks snazzy, pictures to come. The cyanotypes were especially satisfying, as I seem to have finally gotten the hang of exposing them long enough to Read more >>
